Lucy Belbin (Furlong)

We were neighbours in the veteran houses. RIP Mrs. Furlong.

We are saddened to hear of your mother’s passing. We have many fond memories of your mom. Spending time at your cottage. She always made us and our kids feel welcome. Still remember going to her house before Christmas in 1980 to teach me her famous bits and bites recipe. Jack insisted I learn it and to this day I’ve never missed a year making Lucy’s bits and bites. Rest In Peace Mrs Furlong.

It’s with deep sorrow we say goodbye to your Mom...and my wonderful Aunt Lucy. She was born on the rugged Atlantic Coast, in New Chelsea, Newfoundland and was part of 9 siblings in her family. My Dad (Hedley) always spoke of her with love and admiration. I have no doubt that she held a special place in his heart. She was always so much fun to be around and was never shy to give me heck when I needed it. She was also so very kind and loving toward me, even when (maybe) I didn’t deserve it. I’ve always thought the world of you Aunt Lucy and you will fondly remain in my thoughts forever. Many thanks for the love and care she was shown by her children, with a very special nod to Susan who devoted her life during the past many years to look after her Mom at home.
